Art is a universal language and holds the potential to offer understanding and awareness, as any language does. My work is experience-based art, with each artistic action rooted in personal experience. The moments that I attempt to recreate in my art are so familiar to me that I can recount them with each of my senses. I know the rhythm of the moment, and by representing it visually I find self-expression, healing, and resolution.

The connection of my spirit to painting is very strong; my work is about closeness, personal knowledge and significant experiences. Prominent themes in my exploration of making art are memory, regret, hope, fear, humiliation, love and the impressions my five senses have preserved from specific moments in my life.

I am fascinated by the vastness of our capabilities: to participate in conversation, take ownership of our own well being, practice self-awareness, explore our role in the world. It is with profound purpose that I seek to experience, investigate and celebrate the unique and fundamental elements of individuality.

"Take advantage of the awareness of perfection in your mind. See perfection in everything around you. See if you can discover your true feelings… The way to discover the truth about this life is to discover yourself." -Agnes Martin, Beauty Is The Mystery Of Life
